What birds eat Flutter Butter?At first you’ll see small birds coming and going- like blue tits, great tits, robins and nuthatches. In time you may well also attract large birds like the magnificent great spotted woodpecker. And don’t be disappointed to see starlings, too: these striking and gregarious birds are on the ‘red list’ of endangered species and need help in our gardens more than ever.

Where’s the best place to feed Flutter Butter?A quiet position for your feeder is always best. If you can, place it near a tree or hedge where birds can dive for cover whenever they feel unsafe. Open space around the feeder will let birds spot danger, and keep a safe distance from places where a cat might be lurking. Birds will come quicker if you hang it near to others that are already in use and look familiar.

What to do if birds aren't eating flutter butter?Take your time. Birds will be cautious about a new feeder. If they still haven’t come after two or three weeks, you might need to try somewhere quieter. Every garden is different, so keep a watch out to see where birds appear most often and where they seem safest; these will be good places to hang your feeder. The seasons are different, too: in late summer birds avoid feeders while hiding their annual moult, and in early autumn they're often absent when the new crop of seeds and fruits gives them enough to eat.

It can take up to 5 days to be delivered to Highway if not in stock at the store (such as in our warehouse), even if it's already in stock at Highway, please wait for your ready-to-collect email before travelling to the store. You will have 7 days to collect your order from when the email arrives.

Standard delivery is normally delivered in up to 3 working days, Monday - Friday (Excluding Bank Holidays & Public Holidays) for online orders received before 1pm. Orders received after 1pm may still be processed that day and delivered within 3 working days but in most instances will not be processed until the next working day and then delivered within 3 working days from then. This time frame is a guide and unfortunately not always achievable.

Once you have placed your order we will need to contact you to arrange a suitable delivery date & time. For this reason it is important that the contact details you provide when placing your order are correct and the best way to contact you. We aim to contact all customers within 24 hours of placing their order to arrange their delivery.

Please note that some items may require some self-assembly after they have been delivered.

In store purchases

Products purchased in store are not eligible for our standard online delivery services and are not free if £49.99 or over. Availability of, and prices for delivery of in-store purchases will vary depending on the items purchased and store purchased from. Delivery for items purchased in-store is also limited to the local area of the store the item is purchased from and these items are not eligible for delivery to Northern Scotland, Highlands & Isles delivery zones.

A member of staff in store will be able to advise on the availability, price and timescale of delivery for items purchased in-store.

Extended Christmas Returns

For all orders placed between 23rd October and 15th December 2025

The following is in addition to our normal returns policy. Should you change your mind about any item from this purchase you may return it, for any reason until 14th January 2025 and we will refund you the cost of the item, provided it is in a re-saleable condition.

If you discover your product to be faulty before 14th January 2025 or within the first 30 days of your purchase, whichever is later, contact us and we will be able to arrange the return of your parcel, for a full refund of your purchase cost, including initial postage price. If you send the product back to us we will also cover the cost of your return postage to the value of £10.

14 days to change your mind

Within the first 14 days of your item being delivered you may decide to return it to us for any reason. If you do we will refund the cost of the item and your initial delivery charge.

Some items are excluded from this policy, and any item returned must be in a resalable condition.

Faulty items

If you discover your product to be faulty within the first 30 days of purchase, please contact us and we will be able to arrange the return of your parcel, for a full refund of your purchase cost, including initial postage price. If you send the product back to us, we will also cover the cost of your return postage to the value of £10.
