An autumn/early winter vegetable. Celeriac Monarch is an excellent, high quality variety which has very smooth, easily washable, creamy coloured roots. Easier to grow than celery and can be grated raw over salads, cut into slices and boiled, or into strips which are fried. T&M's illustration shows Celeriac cubed and served with a walnut butter. An exciting dish which you too can create by using the FREE recipe, sent with each packet.
Sow seeds from February to April 3mm (1/8in) deep in a good seed compost. Germination takes 21-25 days at 20-25C (70-75F). Sealing in a polythene bag after sowing is helpful. Lower the temperature after germination.When large enough to handle, transplant the seedlings 4cm (1½in) apart into boxes. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in June 3-35cm (12-15in) apart in full sun and well drained soil.Keep well watered especially in dry spells. Hoe regularly and remove any side shoots which may form. Harvest the roots in October-November. In late November lift any remaining and store in damp sand in a cool dry place for winter use.

In store purchases
Products purchased in store are not eligible for our standard online delivery services and are not free if £49.99 or over. Availability of, and prices for delivery of in-store purchases will vary depending on the items purchased and store purchased from. Delivery for items purchased in-store is also limited to the local area of the store the item is purchased from and these items are not eligible for delivery to Northern Scotland, Highlands & Isles delivery zones.
A member of staff in store will be able to advise on the availability, price and timescale of delivery for items purchased in-store.
14 days to change your mind
Within the first 14 days of your item being delivered you may decide to return it to us for any reason. If you do we will refund the cost of the item and your initial delivery charge.
Some items are excluded from this policy, and any item returned must be in a resalable condition.
Faulty items
If you discover your product to be faulty within the first 30 days of purchase, please contact us and we will be able to arrange the return of your parcel, for a full refund of your purchase cost, including initial postage price. If you send the product back to us, we will also cover the cost of your return postage to the value of £10.
