As Department Senior, you will work as part of the leadership team to improve the commercial performance of your store and to coach and support your team to deliver exceptional customer service and excellent store standards to maximise sales and profitability. This role also requires someone who is genuinely passionate about horticulture — a keen or knowledgeable gardener who is enthusiastic about developing and sharing their horticultural understanding with both customers and colleagues.

Core duties include:

• Delivering standards set by the leadership team to ensure your customers receive the best possible shopping experience.
• Ensuring compliance with the H&S requirements for the store.
• Assisting the leadership team with sales performance and planning, to improve sales.
• Leading and supporting people - excellent people management skills are key to this role, and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills and be looking to develop them further.
• Engaging with horticultural products and advice - using your gardening interest and growing knowledge to support customers and help drive the success of the department.

Although the role does not include Duty Management, as part of your development, you will be trained to unlock/lock the store as part of holiday/absence cover.
